Sabiedrības drošība
Apakšprogrammas mērķis ir veicināt drošas Eiropas sabiedrības veidošanu kontekstā ar pieaugošu globālo mainību, savstarpējo atkarību un draudiem. Īpaši fokusējoties uz noziedzības, vardarbības, terorisma, dabas / cilvēku izraisītas katastrofu, kiberuzbrukumu, privātās dzīves aizskārumu vai cita veida sociālo un ekonomisko traucējumu ietekmes mazināšanu. Tas tieši ietekmē ES pilsoņus, un ir plašāka ietekme uz jēdzienu uzticības, aprūpes un sakaru, kā arī saites uz sabiedrības līmenim sagatavošanu un organizēšanu.Lai prognozētu, novērstu un pārvaldītu draudus ar ko Eiropa saskaras (noziedzība, vardarbība, terorisms, dabas / cilvēku izraisītas katastrofas, kiberuzbrukumi, uc), ir nepieciešams izstrādāt un pielietot inovatīvus risinājumus, kā arī, lai uzlabotu konkurētspēju saistītās Eiropas nozarēs, vienlaikus nodrošinot Eiropas pilsoņu individuālās tiesības un brīvību.
Tādejādi ES drošības politikai vajadzētu mijiedarboties ar dažādiem sociālās politikas virzieniem, veicinot sociālās dimensiju drošības pētniecībā, kas tiek uzskatīts kā svarīgs aspekts šīs problēmas atrisināšanā.
