Vide: Klimata pārmaiņas, resursu efektivitāte un izejvielas
Šīs sadaļas mērķis ir veicināt augstu resursu izmantošanas efektivitāti ekonomikā, noturību pret klimata mainību un ilgtspējīgu nodrošinājumu ar izejvielām, lai nodrošinātu pasaules iedzīvotāju vajadzības pēc resursiem planētas kapacitātes robežās. Aktivitātes veicinās Eiropas konkurētspēju un labklājību, tai pašā laikā nodrošinot vides aizsardzību, ilgtspējību, vidējo globālo klimata sasilšanu zem 2°C un iespēju ekosistēmām un sabiedrībai pielāgoties klimata mainībai.Lai sasniegtu ES un starptautiskos mērķus siltumnīcefekta gāzu emisiju un koncentrāciju jomā un lai pielāgotos klimata mainībai, nepieciešams attīstīt ekonomiski efektīvas tehnoloģijas un ieviest pasākumus mitigācijai un adaptācijai. Eko-inovācijas radīs jaunas iespējas ekonomiskai izaugsmei un jaunu darbavietu izveidei. ES līmenī veidoti risinājumi uzlabos rūpniecības konkurētspēju un nodrošinās paātrinātu ieviešanu un izplatīšanu ES kopējā tirgū un citur pasaulē.
Izejvielu pieejamības nodrošināšanai nepieciešama pētniecības un inovācijas koordinācija starp vairākām disciplīnām un sektoriem, lai nodrošinātu drošus, ekonomiski pamatotus, videi draudzīgus un sociāli atbildīgus risinājumus visos ražošanas ķēdes posmos (izpēte, ieguve, apstrāde, pārstrāde, otrreizējā izmantošana, aizvietošana).
